Dialing up

Because they screwed up our DSL connection, I’m posting this while on dial-up… and not just any dial-up, prepaid dial-up. Ever the sunny optimist, however, I’ve decided to use this opportunity to check on how our sites- and our clients’ sites- measure up against slow as molasses connections. Like, say, if I turn off images and CSS, and get right down to the meat and bones of it all.

Sites of the photo gallery type, of course, are out. But I’m pleased to see that most of our blogs hold up quite nicely on their own. Even some of our forums are working well.

Just something to keep in mind the next time we’re coding.
